Meet the guest

Eva Lassemo is a researcher with SINTEF, a large independent research institute in Norway. She has been part of the health services research group the past 13 years and has worked on a wide variety of projects such as comparing health care systems across several European countries. Since starting SINTEF, Eva completed her PhD in public health at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. An impossible study protocol and a chance encounter led her to a degree within psychiatric epidemiology with a focus on common mental disorders and disability pension. Since then, Eva’s research has focused on primarily on mental health, ranging from registry research to text-mining and content analysis. Eva grew up on a small farm in rural Norway, just south of the arctic circle, and the proximity to nature shaped her and remains an important part of her identity.

Eva has two Master’s degrees, one in Applied Economics and one in Health Services Research, both from the University of Minnesota. Even so, she is a strong believer that knowledge is found beyond books and classrooms, and believes that understanding makes her a better researcher. For anyone interested in, or looking for a collaborator in health services research (or any other field) in Norway or Europe, visit the SINTEF webpage or connect with them on Facebook.
